Privacy policy
Your aviation records stay on your device.
This Privacy Policy describes how MachVault (the "Application") handles information when you use our aviation reference app. The Application is provided by BUSI FUTURE LLC, 5470 Germantown Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45417-5800, United States ("we", "us", or "our").
Information We Collect
MachVault does not require an account, sign-up, or login. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location inside the app. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Favorites for aircraft, flight schools, experiences, and media
- Bucket list and comparison presets
- Comparison history and quiz progress (XP, badges, streaks)
- Onboarding and app preferences
- Cached Wikipedia and TMDB images
- Live Activity and widget data in an App Group container
Third-Party Content Services
To show aircraft hero images, the app requests public information from Wikipedia when you browse the Hangar and Compare sections. Film posters and metadata may be requested from TMDB when you browse Media.
These services receive standard HTTP requests for public content. We do not transmit your favorites, watchlists, quiz scores, or personal profile data to Wikipedia or TMDB.
External booking links, Wikipedia articles, and operator websites open in Safari when you choose to visit them.
How We Use Information
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to profile, share, or sell. All app features — Hangar, Compare, Pilot Path, Experiences, Media, and Learn — operate using data stored on your device.
Data Storage & Retention
All of your content remains in the app's private storage on your device and in an App Group container used for widgets and Live Activities. There is no cloud sync and no remote backup operated by us.
You can clear the image cache from Profile settings at any time. Deleting the app permanently removes associated local data from your device.
Live Activities & Notifications
If you enable Live Activities for daily missions, study streaks, or active comparisons, those features use Apple's system frameworks on your device. We do not receive the content of your Lock Screen on our servers.
Children's Privacy
The Application does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted to us, the app is suitable for general audiences under COPPA and similar standards.
Your Control
You can edit or delete your local data at any time through the app — remove favorites, clear comparison history, reset quiz progress, clear image cache, or uninstall the Application to remove all stored content from your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect app improvements or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. The core commitment — local storage, no accounts, no sale of personal data — will not change without clear notice.
